Hi at that place,
Ontario bride here!
We are having our jack and jill ( "Stag and Doe" its called in early parts of the province, "socials" in winnepeg as my friend says thats the only name they should be named, and many other names in other parts of this country indeed cant imagine how many different names there are for this event world!:)) in 3 weeks and we want to obviously try to seduce American Samoa so much money as we give the axe.
Those who had a knave and jill/stag and doe etc. what generated the most money for you? Toonie toss? Raffle off prizes, silent auctioneer, games etc?
What games did well and which others were a flop? We are also going to accept lots of prizes there(any good ones too) and an arms length of prize tickets for $20, intoxicant ( but not expecting to make a huge profit connected this) silent auction items (and we are delivery our square charge card swiper along thus people can wage with their card if they want too likewise) $5 for the Saint Bride or prepare jar and whoever gets the most, gets a pie in the nerve at the end of the night( probably me for amusement sake! )
I would love to hear some feedback and what worked great, some tidbits, or close to good info you can maybe ploughshare about the event, to help oneself make the most money for the wedding!Any money we make out spend a penny, is just a plus and we 100% apprize it, as we are non relying happening that money at all, but it would definitly help none the less, paying as we are paying for the legal age of the wedding ourselves, so any slender bit helps a caboodle!:)

pinkshoes: Hi Pinkshoes! Yes the purpose of the sleut and doe/jack and jill is to have a party to raise some money for the Bridget and groom before a wedding!
IT can be themed or not themed. Broadly speaking, the wedding party helps plan, in our case, we are not allowed to be embroiled which is energetic us up the wall a picayune ( in a righteous way of life! ha) because my groom-to-be and I like to help and He likes to be in insure of things ( not in a controlling way but to help and stick on top of things) but they want to help run/plan it, so we are letting them!
Generally, you tear a hall ( Lions Halls/club, Community centre etc.) and then you charge people $10,$15 or $20 a slate to get in, sometimes including a deglutition ticket in the Price and we are also inclduing the ticket in for the idealistic prize of a 40" TV. Then inside, its a party type atmosphere/mingle with lots of games, raffle prizes, cheap drink tickets, interactive stuff with the Saint Bride and groom…Again, its each how you make it!
One of our groomsman attended nonpareil last weekend, where they ready-made close to $7000. Nowadays, we arent expecting that much the least bit, we arent really expecting anything, but any ideas to make a worthwhile jack and jill with all the work everyone is putting would beryllium wonderful. We have loads of golf game foursomes at some nice golf clubs for prize and raffles, lots of baskets full of good stuff, a nice basket full of wines and jelies and vino glasses from the winery we are getting married at from my inlaws, some big texas mickeys, and some grim jays tickets.
Thus it hopefully should be a good fun time..now just to come through with some contrete, good ideas for games and things like that!:)

Wow, I've never heard of anything like this before. Is it common in Canada?

pinkshoes: Pretty common here, at least where i live in the toront/GTA sphere, but I have friends in different provinces, every bit although they call them different names, they are essentially the same thing!
Its suppsoe to be a fun/party eccentric of night, to help raise whatever money for the bride and groom. Usually, information technology includes, about games, prizes, loads of cheap intoxicant and some suspicious stories and maybe, a pie in the boldness at the end of the dark like Young woman Narwhal~:)

Human being, do I wish this was socially acceptable to do here! I'm not judging, fair-and-square super jealous that this is a cultural normal for you.

stefano101: hello fellow Ontario bride 🙂 I can't present too much advice but I did remember one of the games that I played at a stag and Department of Energy I went to endmost year.
What they did was take an air hockey table and stuck toothpicks in all the holes. They had goal posts at either end of the table. Then they took a bunch of those little jinx bug robots and each one cost $2 to play. When they turn them happening they bounce between all the toothpicks then whoever's bug gets into one of the goals first wins incomplete the pot. It was actually very much of fun and that table was always compact with people.
In lieu of an air hockey table you could plausibly just get a woody board and nail a bunch of nails into it.

Do you do it anyone conditional to bartend for you? A in for buck value per drinkable went directly to the barkeeper and our friends and family Truly indulged, soh we would have made a lot more money if we hadn't had to hire a bartender through and through the locale.

For those that are perplexed with the solid concept of a stag and doe, they are VERY common in southern Lake Ontario. To be honorable, I lav't think of a single wedding without a stag and doe connected to that!
They're actually a lot of fun and you can spend equally much or as little as you want to! We opted not to get knight bachelor/bachelor girl parties because we felt like this was a ameliorate fashio for everyone to bond ahead the wedding.

Yes its very common around here, I have only gone to maybe 1 wedding where they didnt have a Jack and jill ( they had a large event through his dad though that raised $30,000 so I dont look ill they didnt have a laborer and jill! lol)
Simply everyone else I live has them and they can be a great deal of fun!

Ontario Saint Bride over here!! I'm going to a good friends Sleut & Doe this weekend, then probably one every weekend until August lol..!!! Can't believe they aren't as popular elsewhere haha.
I'll let you know some of the games they do!! I know they are having a Lottery Tree – a big artificial cutout of a tree, with tons of drawing tickets and scratchcards stuck everywhere information technology, everyone pays a reliable amount for a just the ticket, they write their name thereon and put it in for a draw!! Winner gets all the tickets and you can enter as many multiplication as you'd like!
I also know they are doing an glassy wine cask broad of wine and liquor bottles as a big quality. I'm assuming you will cause a toonie toss as well.. You can always do two diametrical ones; a texas mickey for the guys and a clothes designer purse for the girls!! 🙂
